Buchu is a very rare and uniquely fragrant herb native to the remote mountainous regions of the Western Cape Province of South Africa. Growing nowhere else in the world, this region provides the highly specific climatic conditions and mineral-rich soil needed to establish and maintain this plant that has been treasured for centuries. Buchu’s rarity is also attributed to its difficulty to propagate, the high mortality rate of young seedlings, and issues with poaching. Despite these challenges, the allure of Buchu's unique properties and distinct aroma has inspired ongoing research and initiatives to safeguard its future. The Western Cape Province continues to be the guardian of this extraordinary herb, ensuring that its cultivation remains a sustainable and valuable practice for generations to come.
First used by the Khoekhoe people of South Africa as a traditional remedy, the buchu plant found its way into the apothecaries and pharmacopeias of Western Europe in the late 1600s. Since that time, it has been used to support a wide variety of concerns as well as a highly sought-after ingredient for cosmetic, fragrance, and flavor industries. Therapeutically, Buchu is known for its ability to cleanse and soothe skin, making it great to encourage a clear complexion, reduce redness, and help protect against bad bacteria and free radicals. It is also commonly associated with digestive support, soothing sore, stiff muscles and joints, and aiding in the body’s natural detoxification process, leading to its reputation as a tonic for physical well-being.
At Naturise, we offer high-quality, natural, and organic products that celebrate the beauty of nature. For every body, our diverse range is crafted with care and purity.

Love this EO. Very unique fragrance and just a tiny amount seems to enhance any other oil or blend being diffused. I'm glad I gave it a try.
This is powerful for getting rid of parasites in the body. A little goes a long way. Impressively effective.
After reading the reviews, I absolutely HAD to try this oil for myself. Given the wide range of love and hate opinions on the odor of buchu, I could not wait to smell it and find out which side of the spectrum I would fall on. I think I'm in the middle. In our household we came readily to agreement that it smells like botanical motor oil with a hint of maybe petigrain or dill. Definitely not something I'd wear as a personal scent but also not putrid like some have said. Also, I daringly put 3 drops in the diffuser despite some saying "only one drop" and it was fine. I added lemon petigrain and lemon to it and a visitor came and said they liked it. I will be adding it to my facial serum in hopes that it helpful to my red, dry areas.
Love this oil! It smells amazing. I dilute it with coconut oil in a roll-on bottle and use it as cologne.
As noted, the scent on this one is very strong. Although I've not used it yet, I'm certain that when I do, a little will go a LONG way! I am, however, excited about its uses for skin care, digestive support, and detox.
Excellent for destressing at night!
This was an add on oil that was priced well enough to take a chance even never hearing of it. i use it in unscented face cleanser and really love it. I am all about trying to help aging skin. Scent is strong but surprisingly I like it.
This was an experimental surprise essential oil offered (timed countdown promotion offered after placing my order) I've never heard of Buchu oil and didn't have too much time to research ….so went ahead and purchased. To my surprise Buchu has numerous profound medicinal properties. WOW!! I was blown away from the research that I've come across. Upon my discovery of researching Buchu may be used to treat various health conditions and carries therapeutic properties - amazingly impressed. My favorite thus far is creating skincare serum with Jojoba oil. The scent is definitely different but I'm totally okay with that scent. Applied to my face in the evening with a little acne, the following morning my pimple was nearly gone! My skin loves Buchu essential oil and looking forward to adding it to my soaking baths. If you've never heard of Buchu - and willing to experiment… Highly Recommend! I would love to purchase more! And create a facial serum for my niece to help fight acne-causing bacteria, anti-inflammatory, and soothe and repair skin. These are my personal reflections - please do your own research.
This may be a very strong and effective pain reliever. It leaves a zingying feeling on the skin after being mixed with fractionated coconut oil. It's reminiscent of capsaicin, but not as uncomfortable. I will evaluate over the next few days to see if I'm correct.
The smell described as sulfurous, was not that bad to me. But Bucha takes few drops and a lot of other odors for aromatherapy.
This is a fantastic product! Thank you for providing excellent quality.
